The Clinical Learning and Interprofessional Practice (CLIPP) unit facilitates discussion between partner organizations and the development, implementation and evaluation of collaborative projects related to clinical education and interprofessional practice in Saskatchewan. The CLIPP unit also manages the Health Sciences Placement network used by many of the health science programs in Saskatchewan to request and coordinate clinical placements for students.

Quick Reference Guides for Nursing Clinical Placements

Quick Reference Guides are now available for the following key personnel involved in the clinical placement process for Nursing: Program Placing Coordinators, RHA Receiving Coordinators, Nurse Managers, and Preceptors.

The purpose of the Guides is to promote a common understanding of the process and a more consistent approach to coordinating nursing student placements in Saskatchewan. Note that as of January 2017, the Nurse Practitioner programs in Saskatchewan will be following the same Common Release Dates as other Saskatchewan Nursing programs.

Preceptor Professional Development

In response to a call for proposals issued in April 2016, CLIPP is pleased to announce funding support for the following projects, each of which promises to deliver new and unique learning resources for Saskatchewan health science preceptors:

  • Preceptors: Prompting Patient Presentations
  • Use of Video Simulation to Enhance Utilization of Current Educational Resources
  • Development of an Online Toolkit for Preceptors and Clinical Faculty
